Every places, wherever it is, has always had its own uniqueness.
Dishoom!! what the heck is that, it feels like a weak sound effect of a flying canary. It sounds weird.. i muttered, it feels ticklish when i sound it. Dishoom dishoom dishoom.. again i muttered.
Hungry and a bit of curiousity in a same time, i stepped into this cafe, a tall brownie englishman pointed to a four seats table near the bar, after looking at a menu, we decided to ordered the food;
Murgh Malai with Basmati Rice, Lamb Biryani for my wife and Chicken Berry Biryani for my daughter, Garlic Naan for side menu, and Dishoom still water. What? this cafe has it’s own mineral water brand? i wonder what Dishoom means. Until i google this words and the link to its restaurant website popped.., and this is what i found out about Dishoom:
1. The old Bollywood sound effect produced when a hero lands a good punch, or when a bullet flies through the air
2. Similar to popular slang usage of the expression “Mojo”; e.g. “He’s got that Dishoom”.
Hahaha what a name.., but please don’t judge the cafe by its name, it still sounds weird, but the food are classy, it’s Indian, it’s unique delicious Indian-ness
Dishoom is located in the heart of Covent Garden at 12 Upper St. Martin’s Lane London WC2H 9FB. Crawl in your finger the world wide web on www.dishoom.com
PS: thanks to Mr. Ashu Goswami and Mr. Tall Brownie Guy, those services there were priceless
